You do realize that a phantom key is not a real key? It is a key for which there is a keycode defined, but for which there is no physical key. So, you can use IR/RM/KM to assign functions to it, and you can use it in macros, but since it doesn't exist you can't press it.

Phantom keys are generally used for functions that you don't need to perform yourself, but that you want to use in a macro.

Yes I know...what I was asking is why there is no support for the Phantom Keys...it's the first time I've run into this since I've been using jp1.

That's probably because there's none defined in the RDF. You can add your own to the [Buttons] section, using unused button codes in the range of $01-$40. Note that some button codes MAY have special meaning hard coded into the remote; there's no easy way to tell for sure.

Do I do this using KM? Or is there another way to edit and RDF.

You can edit the RDF in any regular text editor, like Notepad. It has nothing to do with KM. In fact, KM won't show the additional phantoms unless I add them. That doesn't prevent you from using them, however. On the Key Moves sheet, you can enter a hex button code directly in the Bound Key column.

Tx...I figured out that RDF was just a text file...I added the definitions..just need to test it...

While KM doesn't use the RDFs, both IR and RM do.
