Joe,
Were you successful in doing this? I want to do exactly the same thing and looking for some pointers.

3rd time is a charm
OK, I looked at your snap shot and I notice that you didn't enter any device codes for this upgrade, which means you will default to a device code of 0, which I'm pretty sure is not what you want. If this code is supposed to be modelled after TV/0250, you will need a device code of 128.
THANK ...

2nd try
I see the mistake you are making. For the R5k remote, TV mode only includes the buttons that are allowed in the un-extended mode. What you need to do is use VCR mode for the TV upgrade, then you'll be allowed to program all of the buttons.
That makes sense!
So I did what you suggested. I ...

Extender installed
Well, this procrastinator finally got off her butt and installed the extender 1.2 to the RTV 5k remote.
So far, I can press: TV-1 to control my TV (but only limited to vol +/-, mute) and TV-2 to control my RTV.
So I'm not much better than before I upgraded and I have extra keys to press before ...

I guess if there's no way of doing it without using an extender, I will try that first. But I might take up your offer on buying an old remote.
Can I make the Replay & TV buttons to be non-power on/off button, instead, it just selects that device and have another button I would sacrifice (maybe the ...

Replay 5000 remote
I recently upgrade to a Replay 5k from a Showstopper. I hate this new remote (at least compared to the old one).
I have a question to other replay 5k users out there:
What button do you use to change the video input of the TV?
I used my JP1 cable to make the mute button as my tv/vcr button of my ...
