I have a ReplayTV 5000 remote. I don't use Zones so that button is never used. I would like change the function of the Zones button to change the Input (TV/VCR) button on my Sony Wega TV.
I suspect that there is a way for me to determine the code to enter into the keymap master, but I am not sure how. Also am I correct that entering that code into the keymaster, exporting it to IR.exe and downloading to my remote will allow me to switch the TV input by pressing the zones button on my Replay remote?
So can someone help me find the code used by a Sony Wega (0000) TV to switch inputs and confirm that loading this function onto the Zones button will work?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Thanks
Joe
Changing a button's function on a Replay 5000 remote

I think you mean the TV/Vid signal. But you probably should check this list of signals to see which signal(s) you want.
http://www.hifi-remote.com/sony/Sony_tv.htm
The numbers there are OBC numbers.
TV/Vid is OBC 37.
Apparently the Replay remote has no KeyMoves, so to change one button you need to define an upgrade for the whole device.
In KM, you need to select the Sony12/15 protocol and set device1 to 1. Device2 would depend on what other signals you want from the lists in that site I linked.
Then see the protocol help for how to enter OBC and byte2 values (it's a bit more obvious in RM than in KM).

Thanks for the feedback.
When I defined the new upgrade I used the following settings:
Remote: Replay 5000
Device Type: VCR
Setup Code: 1614
Button Codes: OBC
Protocol Name: Sony12/15
Device1: 1
Device2: 0
Protocol ID: 00 CA
Fixed Data: 80 00 00
As far as Functions/Buttons I did it two ways:
- Starting with blank file I defined just the Zones to TV/Vid using the OBC that you mentioned in your post above.
- The other way was that I started with a ReplayTV 5000 definition defined for all the buttons and changed the Zones to TV/Vid button.
Does this make sense? Regardless of the way that I chose when I downloaded code into the remote only the Zones button would work....none of the other Replay buttons would operate the Replay Unit.
If there is something basic that is covered in one of the help documents please diect me to the appropriate document.

The R5k remote doesn't have keymoves, so in order for you to have all the other buttons still work the Replay and just have this one button work the TV, you will need to use the device combiner. Hopefully someone else can jump in and help get you started with that.

The best option with this remote is to use the extender. Your only other option is to use the Device Combiner.
