Yamaha ysp-1100 and RCA RCRP05B

For some reason having a really hard time getting any of the codes to work via command 994. Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

The YSP series uses NEC1 Device 120 for standard signals and sometimes device 126 for extended signals . The RCRP05B doesn't have a simple NEC1 executor for 120; instead you need to use setup code 1331, which should already provide many of the basic functions, including inputs on the number buttons. In the instances where device 126 is needed, temporarily assign setup code 0376 before making the 994 keymove. Both of these setup codes employ the NEC 4DEV Combo executor.

Use this upgrade since it is setup for the 4DEV Combo executor. Since you'll be using the 994 command, make sure to scroll down so you can see and check the "Executor enforces S is the complement of D" box. For example, the EFC for direction Up should be 30405, and not 30437.
