URC 8910 Beginner at everything here

Ive been register to this site, but never posted or never bothered to ask any questions until now....
First of all thanks for your attention, I have had for a long time a URC 8910. Long time ago I called customer service to try to download new codes for different components and memory filled. But the real problem is that my kids dropped the remote and the modem for downloading has been disfunctional.
So is there a way for me to download codes for the diiferent components that I have( that are not in the Library of course ) through some type of cable through the back of the remote. I have some Viewsat satellite receivers.
Sorry I know nothing about this method of reprogramming the remote through the cable that can be used...Thanks again

Check out this THREAD one by one. there you'll find info on the cable you'll need and what tools you'll need to download. Get everything setup or try to and post back with questions.

If your not afraid to open up the remote you might be able to get the modem for phone downloads working again too.

May be a cheaper and simpler option if your up to it.

... but in the long run, JP1 gives much more control over the remote than programming by keypresses.
