Decoding & using Hex data for HDMI Inputs for Pani Plasm

I have been in search of the descrete HDMI inputs for my new Panasonic Plasma which appear to not be in any of the upgrade files here, so I came accross this raw hex data in a post in Remote Central of people having the same problem. Someone found this Hex data and they apparently where able to convert it to use with their Prontos . My question is how to use it in IR or Keymap master to use with a 6131. I already have the Descrete On and Off as well as all the inputs except for HDMI 1 and 2. I pasted the raw hex for HDMI 1 into IRTool and it came back with some the info for Device = Kenwood / Yamaha, but I am not sure what my next step would be to make it useable with my 6131. Can someone help or point me in the right direction. I am sure there are many who would be interested in these inputs as most are currently switching to the HDMIs via a macro at this point.

What your words say and what your data indicate does not match. All of the posted hex strings decode in IR Tool to Panasonic protocol, with the device.subdevice and OBC as indicated immediately above each hex string.

None of the signals decodes as a Yamaha or Kenwood protocol.

HDMI 1 decodes as Panasonic 128.4, OBC 176, whilst
HDMI 2 decodes as Panasonic 128.4, OBC 177.

Just use the data to build/modify a Panasonic upgrade using either the Panasonic Combo, Combo 2 or Mixed Combo protocols (depending on what other device/sub-device combinations you have to cram into it).

There are LOTS of Panasonic TV upgrades you can use as a starting point, like THIS ONE or THIS ONE. Just add the HDMI functions to them, change the remote to the 6131 (make sure you select "using extender" on the setup sheet if appropriate), assign the butons and import it into IR.

IrTool has a very crude built-in decoder. The incorrect results you saw are from that decoder. You see those results:

1) After clicking OK to the decodeIr results
or
2) If IrTool can't find decodeIr.dll
0r
3) If you used the wrong version of IrTool.exe

It sounds like you are using the old version of IRTool from Remote Central, if you use the version found here it has been modified for JP1 use and will give you the correct JP1 info for all of those hex snippets.

All of what John and Rob wrote above is, of course, correct, but I point out, again, that the correct decode information is already listed at the beginning of EACH HEX STRING. There's no need for IR Tool at all.

I understand what your saying - I already have the working upgrade for all other Pani functions so I just need to add these HDMIs to it. I thought I had to use the IRtool but it was easier than I thought. My biggest problem is that I have used JP! for quite a few years, but sporatically as needed - Once I get my remote the way I like it, I lose touch with the programming of it until I make a change to my setup, and it seems like when I come back, everything has advanced and I have to relearn it all- I forget everything I previously learned.

It is amazing how much you guys know about this stuff.

the crazy thing is my current and favorite remote is not even JP1 (URC-300 touchscreen- its RF with the IR extender and works really well), but it is terrible at learning commands and I also need some decretes, so I have been using JP1 to get the commands into my 6131PVR exended or 15-1994, and then learning from them. I always come back to JP1.
