KM & Samsung20 protocol
I have a window air conditioner with a remote that uses the Samsung20 protocol. When I went to put the codes learned in IR into KM, I noticed that protocol isn't listed in the drop-down menu. Is there any other way to do it, or just leave them as learned keys in the remote?
There is an upgrade for A Samsung Sync Master-170 here:
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=1148
That includes a custom executor for Samsung20 protocol.
There aren't a lot of notes there, so I'm not sure how the device numbers in that custom protocol relate to numbers in the decodes. Maybe one of the other experts remembers (or maybe it will be easy once you try).
Also, air conditioners tend to have long IR signals, which start out identical to other protocols, but continue beyond the end of the usual protocol. So your decodes are a little suspect. If you post your .ir file of decoded signals in the diagnosis area and URL back here, I'll take a look and see if they are really Samsung20 or are something similar but longer.

I just ran a test and found that it is easy. The Device reported by DecodeIR is the Device1 in KM and the Subdevice reported by DecodeIR is the Device2 in KM.johnsfine wrote:I'm not sure how the device numbers in that custom protocol relate to numbers in the decodes. So you can get that Sync Master upgrade and:
Change the "Upgrade Description".
Change the remote model.
Probably change Device Type and Setup code
Change the two device numbers
(Leave all the strange stuff on the setup sheet unchanged)
Change all the function names and OBC's on the functions sheet
Remap your buttons and you're ready to go.
