need help adding header to remote URC-2099

has anyone added jp1 header to this remote or does anyone know how i vcan do it and if done where to get an rdf. the

If a remote doesn't have an EEPROM onboard, nor a vacant space where one can be added, you're not going to be able to make it a JP1 remote because it's very unlikely that the main processor is programmed to look for an EEPROM.

That doesn't appear to be a JP1 remote. The 3 holes below the battery springs marked J1 look to be the old 3-wire serial interface which isn't supported by the JP1 tools.

theres only the u2 spot at the bottom but thats only 8 pins is that what you mean ?
hi robman since i grabbed your attention have you used the ir/rf pc interface from tommy tyler I was hoping it would replace my learning remote but so far hasnt been very useful and no one has replied to my post about it.

Sorry, I missed that the first time I looked as I'm not used to such a large space. Typically these days we see small U2 spots ready for a surface mount chip, but this one requires a DIP style chip. However, the good news is that if you were to acquire a DIP style EEPROM chip, you can indeed rig this remote up for JP1, but the mod is medium difficulty. You'd need to use the doc that Tommy wrote for modding the 15-1918 as your guide.

I never got the one that I made working and I haven't had a chance to ask Tommy for help with it.
