9960 & Bose upgrades not working. Please Help!

Post by neals »

Hey there. Ok so i had a friend with good eyes solder in a 6pin header to my Kameleon 9960B01. It seems like the JP1 cable works well because IR.exe shows my codes and macros when i select "download from remote" button. Hooked up the c-1024 IR2RF converter to my Bose. Downloaded all the device codes i could find in the files section for the Bose: Lifestyle 50 and the MRIs B,C,D. I have a Lifestyle 30 so since im not exactly sure which one of the device types to try i tried each one of them using KM and IR.exe individually. Uploaded the remote and it seemingly takes. Try the remote with the C-1024 and I cant get anything. Can anyone shed light on what i might be missing?

Thank you very much.

It looks to me like the correct one is Bose_Lifestyle_50.txt

Here's some things to double check:
From the manual for the c-1024.

Did you
For use with a LIFESTYLE® 20, 25 and 30, set switch #1 to the up position.
Troubleshooting
If the system does not work, make sure all connections are correct, then check the “house codes." If the house codes
have been changed in the past to avoid conflict with other systems, change them back to the factory default
setting (all switches OFF except for #5 ON). Make sure both the switch array in the white RF remote and the array
in the Lifestyle® system are set the same if you wish to be able to use the white remote.

Thanks for the quick reply. To answer both your questions, yes sw#1 is in the up position and checked the house codes were set to the default and matched the remote and lifestyle system, which they were. In fact i never changed them ever since i own the bose but double checked anyway. Im at a loss for what to do next. Any clue?

Thanks.

The LS30 does use the same device codes as the LS50, and most of the button codes are the same also, so if you've got everything set up correctly, the upgrade that Greg linked to should work. Maybe the guys at BlueDo can offer some advice?

In the meantime, why don't you post your 9960 IR.exe file so we can check that you have the upgrade loaded correctly.

Thanks Rob. I'll send the IR stuff tonight when i get home. Is it just a matter of posting the *.ir file i created? I have an email into Bluedo as well.

Hi Rob. I just posted my ir file to the diagnosis file section. Im kinda hoping theres something wrong with it ;o)

Thanks for your help.

BTW, i emailed with Bluedo and they say i should use ccf2efc to convert a pronto file. I noticed on the forum we have a tool called decodeCCF but im assuming an expert already did this conversion and posted the upgrade im already trying....

Im going a little nutz at this point...

Thanks.

Yes, that's exactly what I did when I created the upgrades.

You are correct, the DecodeCCF program replaces CCF2EFC (and both programs were written by our own John Fine).

I put the file in the Diagnosis area of the file section. Are you not finding it there or should i post it somewhere else?

Thx.

If you know where the file is, just copy the URL and include it in a post in this thread.

Change your audio code from 1023 to 2000 and test it again. The device upgrade is 2000 and your remote is set for device 1023.

Now you see why we wanted to see your IR file! That sort of mistake is very common. Now that you can confirm that the C-1024 box works, try experimenting to see what functions are supported that aren't even on your original remote.

Take a look at this spreadsheet that lists all the Bose commands that I know of, it might help you decide what other OBCs to try out. Of course, you could just try all 256 OBCs to be sure you've got it covered.

I will definitely check this out! So far im not sure about selecting FM or Am inputs but i'll keep experimenting with the buttons and functions.

Thanks again for all your help and everyone else that assisted. I have to admit i was ready to hurl this thing across the room tonight.

Neal.
