6131 upgraded by OFA (Memory Issues)?

This is the JP1 beginners forum. There's no such thing as a stupid question in here, so post away, but this forum is just for JP1 users and people considering JP1, non-JP1 users please use the appropriate forum above!

6131 upgraded by OFA (Memory Issues)?

Post by thepackfan »

I have a pair of 6131's that where upgraded with JP1. When I'm in IR it shows that have have not used up my memory. But when I add extra devices I lose Buttons that were already working, or the new ones don't work. I'm trying to set up different unit codes for 4 tivo units(I know who need four units). IE have 2 tivos working unit 3&5 , when I try unit 2 only a couple of buttons work.

For a short period I had all four working. I saved in IR. I then wanted to upgrade the tv button and lost one of the tivo's. When I try to reload saved good copy of tivo stuff not all buttons work properly again.

Any help would be appreciated I have spent way to much time on this so far.

Thanks

Please post a copy of your IR file in the Diagnosis Area, and then post a link to it. Make sure you read Posting Links to Yahoo Files.

First of all, when UEI does the JP1 upgrade, they use a smaller EEPROM, so that's why IR tells you there is an inconsitency with the RDF file.

OK, you've got 4 device upgrades for TiVos:
1949 is unit code 0, uses PID 0111, not assigned
1618 is unit code 3, uses PID 0041, assigned to CBL/SAT
1698 is unit code 2, uses PID 0041, assigned to AUD
1699 is unit code 5, uses PID 0041, assigned to PVR.

PID 0111 (TiVo Official) is built into the 6131, so you shouldn't use PID 0041 (TiVo advanced), which is a protocol upgrade. That'll free up a little upgrade memory, but you seem to have enough.

You've also got a b inch of keymoves to the PIP, Swap, and Move buttons from setup code VCR/1619, VCR/0619, VCR/1888 and VCR/1156. I don't know what 1619, 0619, and 1888 are as they aren't upgrades you've loaded, not are they assigned to any device buttons.

VCR/1156 appears to be a TV upgrade you created, but used the VCR device type to get more keys in the key map. This is OK, it just may break VPT.
