Possible Trojan in java environment COUNT4.JAR

Post by rickety »

Doing a virus scan my system reported trojans in.....

folder C:\Documents and Settings\usera\.jpi_cache\jar\1.0
file count4.jar-47b4436f-446f82ca.zip
Creation and Modify date is 22 March 2004

Trojan reported in the following and described as Exploit-ByteVerify
bb.class
verifierbug.class
dummy.class
beyond.class

As far as I know I only use the jar stuff with RM. I can't tell when this file was downloaded. Only dummy.class seems to have been installed in the file sub-folder and it has a later date than the one that called the alert.

I don't want to be a "scaremonger" but thought that folks that understand these things might be able to tell whether there is a real issue. For others and those that don't do virus scans, they may want to look at their systems!

I don't know why this did not show up in the scan at the beginning of April. Maybe it was downloaded afterwards, maybe the virus checker updated its information.

I'd appreciate any ideas or comments.
