Atlas URC-1056 Backlight Timeout

Post by jrh995 »

I have an Atlas URC-1056 5-Device w/ backlight remote. Is there any way to increase the ON time of the backlight after a key is pressed? 5 seconds is a bit short to find the correct key for me.
I have read the readme file of the extender for this remote that deals with the backlight but I do not see any mention of changing the on time.
Thanks,
John

I have the same exact question.

I noticed there have been no replies yet.

I vaguely remember some discussion of this early on in the extender development. I think it turned out to be too difficult to change the backlight timeout. So you'll have to live with the default. Sorry.

The JP1.3 extenders are different than the JP1 extenders in that they don't recreate the "main loop" in which the remote processes keys. This allowed us to change the timeout value on the JP1 remotes but doesn't allow for this on the JP1.3 extenders. (unless of course someone wrote a JP1-like extender that doesn't permanently activate and recreates the main loop)

It's a side effect of a design decision that I made when I wrote the first JP1.3 extender and one that I felt I could live with on the backlit ones (Atlas backlit and 15-100)
