Samsung BD-H8500 PVR/Blu-ray player

Post by TimGuk »

Hi, I'm trying to reconfigure my M1 to work with a Samsung BD-H8500 which is a combined PVR and DVD player. The one for a Samsung BD-D8500N works for most of the buttons except for the crucial menu one. Can anyone point me at the correct one.

Looks like Samsung has 3 "menu" commands for that model, according to Global Cache, all of which are in the file you tried. They're MENU on the Menu key, TITLE MENU on Custom21 and HOME on Custom14. Another possibility is the SMART command on Custom18. Give all of those a try.

Where are the custom keys?

Hi, Thanks for getting back. I’m clearly being dumb but I can’t figure out how to find the custom keys. I’m using the iPad app.

Me neither. I only know the JP1 part. Maybe Alan, our resident Slingbox expert will chime in.

Sorry, been away on holiday. I'm afraid there is no way to access the Custom buttons on an iPad. A missing feature that I kept pointing out to Sling for over a year and which they totally ignored.

Thanks Alan.

So, in Remote Master, move those 3 candidate commands from the custom buttons to buttons that you can access from iOS. Perhaps you don't need the number buttons?
