IR to RM

Post by mlibbey »

Yesterday I added a new device upgrade to my URC-6131. The upgrade file wasn't specifically designed for my remote, so I moved some keys around using RM (then uploaded it to the remote using IR). I now realize I missed a button. I wasn't smart enough to save my configuration in RM though - so the only saved copy is in IR/my remote. Is there a way to copy the data for that device in IR and import it into RM? Or, do I just need to start from the device upgrade file again?

I suppose this procedure would also be useful to extract setup codes that UEI entered into my remote during the upgrade process for uploading to the files section?

Yes, you can extract Device Upgrades (not built-in setup codes, but only UPGRADES) from an IR file into RM.

In IR, go to the Devices tab and double-click on the upgrade you want to export (or highlight it and select the "Edit" button at the bottom).

Copy the contents of the Upgrade Device window onto the clipboard (I simply highlight the whole thing, right-click and select "Copy").

In RM's top menu bar, select Advanced>Import Raw Upgrade.

Paste in the contents of your clipboard and voila! You will have to manually enter the device type and upgrade code number (like DVD:1325) and other descriptive info.
