Binky,
Related to Elizabeth's problem, does transmission delay have any effect using the USB driver? She seems to get better results with larger numbers. I have problems as well and was wondering what's the maximum value IR can handle?

It is definately there, DeviceName is :binky123 wrote:IR.exe queries the Windows registry for LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Delcom\USBIODS\Parameters and if it exists then it looks for DeviceName within the above entry. Your error msg indicates that it can't find the Delcom\USBIOSDS\Parameters registry entry. Perhaps, manually creating it and the DeviceName entry would make it work?
\\.\USB#VID_0FC5&PID_1222#5&11a8e68f&0&2#{b5157d69-75f8-11d3-8ce0-00207815e611}
Which doesn't mean much to me
Any other thoughts ?

Slightly different punctuation here # vs . and different number of \\\ and I also have no clue what it means but it is installed, just not working reliably
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Delcom\USBIODS\Parameters]
"DebugLevel"=hex:00
"BootupTest"=hex:00
"DeviceName"="\\\\.\\USB#Vid_0fc5&Pid_1222#5&2122bce5&0&3#{b5157d69-75f8-11d3-8ce0-00207815e611}"

No workie here either on XP.
I have no problem with installing, with IR recognizing it and with downloading from the remote. But what does download has skipped sections. So you miss one or more 8-byte segments and IR puts out a debug file where, with great difficulty you can identify what got missed. I told Delcom they miss packets. And they said they don't miss packets.
Speed of transfer had no effect. I may get a perfect download at any speed, very infrequently. And it usually fails, also at any speed.
No issues on an ancient Win2K laptop. And if I recall, no problem in XPpro, also old laptop.

For VISTA people
Microsoft has this blurb about class {36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000} for Vista where they are aware of some issues which might have been corrected in Vista-SP1
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928631
Also perhaps this matters:
In the distribution package here or Delcom there are two .inf files, the difference being a ";" which might be a comment, so people who can't get the drivers to work probably should make sure to use the file with "1" in name so that it does not suppress the ClassGUID, as I have a feeling it should be there.
ClassGUID={36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000}
;ClassGUID={36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000}
I'm not on Vista and still can't make it work.
