Having trouble using Device Combiner on a ReplayTV remote.

I am trying to use the device combiner on a RTV remote. But when I load the data back into the remote I can only turn on the TV and RTV unit, none of the other button work.

The reason I am using the Device Combiner is that I am trying to replace the Zones function with the TV/Vid funtion onmy Sony Wega. The efc code on the Sony for TV/Vid function is 216. Here is what I ended up with:

Best if you could post into Diagnosis your .rmdu file for someone to look at.
Have you added fixed bytes to the Setup sheet?
Have you assigned any functions to buttons?
Are you combining devices? if so, which?

I am trying to combine RTV 5000 and Sony 12/15. What I want to do is use the Zones button on the RTV remote to control the TV/Vid on my Sony Wega televison. I was told by Rob that since the RTV remote does not allow key moves then I would have to use the device combiner.

Well, I see two problems:

(1) You have no buttons assigned in your upgrade; and
(2) You use protocol 0145 in your Device Combiner upgrade, yet that protocol is not resident in the Replay5K, so in addition to the DC Protocol upgrade (0144), you need to get the 0145 protocol upgrade from the UNCOMBINED R5K upgrade and load IT into your remote.

The DC protocol can combine FUNCTIONS from different devices and protocols, but it doesn't contain the actual protocol info. The protocols that the DC calls on must be in the remote, either naturally, or via Protocol upgrade.
