Seeing only one remote option in RM

Post by JoeMama »

When I load RM I only see one option in the Remote field. It is Slingbox with UEI JU Chip. What am I doing wrong?

Theory 1: That is the only rdf you have downloaded.

Solution: Download the rdf zip file from the tools area and unzip it.

Theory 2: RM is only seeing that one rdf.

Solution: Put all of the rdf files for all of the remotes in the same folder as that Slingbox w/ JU chip rdf.

I agree with Theory 2, but not with that solution.

I think that one RDF is in an inappropriate place and the rest are in the right place.

I can't find the dialog in RM to change where it thinks the RDF files are (once it thinks it knows). Is there such a dialog? There should be.

Without that dialog, you can edit the RemoteMaster.properties file and remove the RDFPath line. Or if you haven't put any special settings into RM you can delete the RemoteMaster.properties file entirely.

The next time RM starts, it should ask where the RDF files are. This time navigate to the directory that contains most of the RDF files, not the directory that contains just one.

I agree with you, but I also..

I'm not smart enough to suggest your workaround, so I went with what I figured would work.

This distribution has two Slingbox remotes at the root. Remaining files are in the subdirectory ...\RDF. So, as already indicated, one just needs to navigate to where all the files are and/or move the Slingbox files into the \RDF directory.
