Why .rmdu? Why not post a working .bin file?
OK...I don't know why most files posted are .rmdu files. All I need is the .bin file that slingbox requires. Anyway, can someone PLEASE post the .bin file of the .rmdu file in this thread...or at least teach me how to make use of it?
thx

Re: Why .rmdu? Why not post a working .bin file?
Because one of the primary programs that JP1 users use to create and modify device upgrades is RemoteMaster, which saves its data in a tailored file format called rmdu. Being that this forum is primarily a JP1 users forum, that seems rather reasonable. Add to that (for NOW, at least) that more users of this forum have OTHER universal remote controls made by UEI that are upgradeable using the JP1 tools than specifically Slingboxes, it seems reasonable that most upgrades to be found here are in a format they can use (and which is readily convertible into Slingbox bin format), and Slingbox BIN files are not very useful to someone trying to buil/tailor/modify an RM or KM upgrade for his remote control.THXWOW wrote:OK...I don't know why most files posted are .rmdu files.
Read the begineer's read me post (linked below in my sig). All you need to focus on is the use of RM, and ignore the sections about IR. Once you download RM (which requires you to have Java Runtime Environment installed), you can take any KM or RM upgrade, tailor it as you desire and output the BIN file you require yourself.THXWOW wrote:or at least teach me how to make use of it?

There's only one sticky post in this forum, have you read it? It's called "Using JP1 with the Slingbox" so the subject alone should give you a pretty good idea that it's likely to be helpful.THXWOW wrote:OK...I don't know why most files posted are .rmdu files. If you have read that thread and the articles that it links to, you'll know that you need to be using the RM program to create the binary file and the RM program uses *.rmdu files as it's input.

slingbox and viewsat extreme
Im using the S2046 bin right now but i would love to have all the buttons functioning .Has anyone created a file with all the buttons working ?
If you have the .rmdu file that was used to create the .bin file, you can create the .bin with any button layout you want.
