Remote Master

Post by spinquick »

OK, this is becoming more time consuming than I thought it would.
I have downloaded and installed the Java ap, as directed in Getting Started. Next I tried to start remote master, but I keep getting the same error - seems there is no application to open the setup.jar file. IS this not a Java file?
Suggestions?

Thanks.

Yes, I installed Java. Application Server PE 9. This does not sound like it would be that right version, but the instructions were not specific, so I chose the latest one on the site. Maybe I installed the wrong program?

OK, I downloaded a differnt Java program and got a little farther, but still having problems.
I get an error with a full page of Java error codes.
The version of RM I have is 1.68. The latest RDF's I could find say they are for version 1.25. Could this be the problem? Is there a later version of RDF's that I have not found?
Please help.

Not server. You need runtime. the link in the ReadMe file goes to the current update:
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 9
The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications.

Unless Greg says it should be 1.5.6 which I doubt.
