ultra cable issue?

I have a 2117 remote, win98 on the computer and I have been using a simple jp1 cable that I made. every once in a while after uploading into the remote I would get a mem error in the display. I would just upload again maybe takes 3 times and then it would take. I decided to make an ultra cable just because. I still get this mem error at times. Anybody know why? Thanks for the reply, Doug
