Interface Trouble : One remote works, Another DOES NOT

Post by szfsoft »

Hi -

I have been using my JP1 cable (Simple interface) on my URC-8881 remote, and have been able to use it to successfully upload and download configurations with that remote.

Now, having gotten two Atlas 5-device PVR remotes from the cable company, I tried programming both of them with this cable to no avail. I tried turning the cable around, taking the batteries out and restarting the program and computer. I can still successfully program the URC- 8881. However, these remotes don't work.

I notice the remote says "JP1.2" next to the interface. Is this the standard JP1 interface? Do I need to build a new cable to work with these remotes?

Please let me know if you have any advice regarding this problem.

That indicates that one of the new flash-memory chips is being used in the remote. As of now, these are not compatible with the current JP1 tools.
