Yamaha RX-V2500 codes

Post by tneuland »

I cannot get my 15-2138 to LEARN the Yamaha Standby key. The AVR has separate Power off and Standby keys.

Has anyone created a KM file for the RX-V2500? All of the ones in the files section don't seem to work, or are badly incomplete.

Any thoughts on why it will not learn the Standby command?

Are you only trying to learn the STANDBY button to the 15-2138's "POWER" button? If so, try learning to another button to see if that works. Remember, it doesn't really matter which button you use for the learning because you'll assign the code to the correct button as part of the upgrade that you create.

In the meantime, you should create an upgrade based on the info you have been able to learn so far as this will confirm to use whether your RX-V2500 uses the same codes as other Yamaha receivers (I'm assuming it's a receiver).

I tried to learn the STANDBY command to the GUIDE key (right next to POWER). I get a valid learned signal, but subsequent usage does not work.

I want to get this to work before I attempt a toggle sequence. No, I don't know how to pull that off either. But, I'm learning (hpoefully better than the remote).

Okay, I'll create an upgrade. I'm a newbe, so bear with me.

I received a code (1276) from UEI via modem which works with most of the Receiver. I edited two of the number codes to switch to CBL/SAT and DTV which were not in the code received. I also learned that Power Off is mapped onto the POWER button on the 2138. I am attempting to place EFC code 248 onto the Guide button on the 2138. When I Edit the IR block to add the Hex code 47 I find that it doesn't map onto the Guide key. Instead codes move up into [not mapped] keys.

How does one go from a code in IR to an upgrade .txt file for KM? I find documentation on how to use KM and go to IR. But, not the other direction.

Just FYI, the 1276 code that they added sends the same signals (and therefore, responds to the same advanced codes) as the 0176 and 1176 codes, both of which are built in to the 15-2138.

One doesn't. We use KM (and RM) to create and manipulate upgrades, IR is just there to load them up into the remote.

You said none of the upgrade files worked, yet I just compared the 1276 code with the first Yamaha file that I downloaded (called Yamaha AV REC.txt) and it matched almost exactly, so if you say it didn't work, but the 1276 upgrade does work, it tends to imply that you must have made a mistake when you tried to load it.
