How do I.......

Post by PGBELL »

I would like to know what I can read to learn how to use a shift key and set one up as well as making phantom buttons. Also, I would like to learn how to get and use discrete on and off codes. I have set up my URC 8810w with 2 device upgrades and the other 3 devices are factory code entry's. What should I do next.? I would like to set up some macros, but I am not sure how to add all of the above features.

 Thanks Pete
P.S.Rob... Thanks for the remote I ordered from you !!!

usually the setup button works as a shift key, it will stay shifted till the light timer goes out...
when your building your keymoves or macros or upgrade just choose that the function is shifted and it will do that function when you press that button in shift mode..
as for macros you just go to the macro tab and add a macro by selecting the key you want to use to execute the macro and give it a sequence of keys you want it to press for that macro...
You can setup phantoms in the keymove section they act just like normal buttons...
for descreets you need to locate the EFC (many devices don't support descreet codes as i've found) for the function you want... try the hifi-remote main site for some descreet codes... then you make a keymove with the device selected just as you did on your main device selection screen ie: tv setup code: 0047 but you'd enter the descreet EFC into the efc box and when you press or call that button it will run that code.

hope that helps :)
