Altice One (Sagemcom DCIWA384 UHD Alt US)

Post by BlueJayC »

Hey all. I have a question I hope someone can help out with. (Note: I'm a noob and have very limited knowledge regarding this stuff so please take it easy on me.)

I just upgraded my cable box to an Altice One through Optimum (formerly Cabelvision) and now am having difficulty accessing the remote function through my Slingbox 350.

I'm looking for any compatible remotes and/or custom .bin files for devices that can operate the box. All of the information I've been able to find thus far is below:

1. Device: Altice One (Sagemcom DCIWA384 UHD Alt US)
2. Type of device: Cable Box
3. Year: 2017
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: Unknown (factory model is T4HU1608 35k)
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? No
6. Still have original remote? Yes
7. Checked the file section? Yes (as best I could)
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes (as best I could)
9. Partially working setup code? No
10. Learning remote question? n/a
11. Have you tried the JP1 Lookup Tool? Yes, didn't find anything
12. If you have a OARUSB04G (or similar) remote, have you tried simpleset.com? n/a

The first box at this link appears to be the same as mine: https://apps.fcc.gov/els/GetAtt.html?id=182021&x=

Any assistance or direction would be greatly appreciated.

We have many Sagem or Sagemcom files here, so it's possible that one of them will work for you, even if the model number is different. Here are a few random samples that you can try:

Thanks for the reply. I'll start plugging away to see if any work. Much appreciated.

Unfortunately none of the Sagemcom .bin files worked. Any recommended alternatives? Is this something that may require a custom virtual remote build? If so I'm way too novice to do that myself can you possibly recommend someone that may be able to assist?

Any and all information is much appreciated.

There is one (and only one) line of interest in the PDF document you linked. It says
IR sensor : 56KHz, SA protocol
so the protocol is probably non-standard. Anyone knows what "SA" means?

Scientific Atlanta. For some reason he PMd me at the same time as posting this and I've recommended he try the Scientific Atlanta Explorer remote at https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=7895

Worked like a charm. Many thanks.

Sorry for the PM I'm not an active member on this board so wasn't sure what was the best approach for receiving a response.

Every single Altice One user with these new boxes has been experiencing the same Slingbox issues and as best as I can tell through my dive down the internet rabbit hole which ended here at this forum alanrichey is the only one to come up with a solution. Kudos to you sir and thanks for the assistance.

Good find, if that bin works chances are there are built in codes that also work, try selecting the SA brand in the Slingbox setup, the code numbers should be 0477, 0877 or 1877. That way folks that aren't comfortable loading a bin file might also be able to get their new Sagamcom boxes working.

Good call. To update, the recommended .bin file worked but the remote responses were a little glitchy and there were some non-responsive buttons.

Through trial and error I found that for the Altice One box selecting the following items during the Slingbox setup yielded the best results and produced a virtual remote with full functionality without the necessity of uploading a custom .bin file:

1. When selecting a remote choose the "Pick Tab."
2. When selecting Device Type choose "Cable Box"
3. When selecting Manufacturer choose "Scientific Atlanta"
4. When selecting Model choose "Explorer 2000"

Please note I have a Slingbox 350 and in order to hook it up to the Altice One box which only has a single HDMI output I had to purchase this converter: http://www.slingbox.com/HDMIConverter
