Edited RMIR file is now ignored when I try to load

Post by timg11 »

I modified an existing working RMIR file to customize the macros and keymoves. I'm using RemoteMaster (RM IR) v2.0, Win 7, and URC1056B1 remote from Time Warner.

I saved the RMIR file, uploaded it to the remote, and then closed the RM IR program.

After testing, I found some further changes to be made, so I opened RMIR, and used File Open to open the file I just saved. RM IR behaved like I had not opened a file at all.

I could open other files normally. Whenever I tried to open my edited file, RM IR still ignored it. The file did not open, and the previous file remained showing in the title bar.

I opened my edited file and some of the earlier versions in a text editor and compared them. Other than the changes that I made, they seem quite comparable. There is no visible corruption.

Can anyone explain why RM IR would just ignore an RMIR file like this? What did I do that would cause the problem?

I went back to an earlier version and re-created my work, but I'd like to understand where I went wrong.
