i have a Magnavox 27MS343S without a remote and CHILD LOCK ON (not parental control) it disables the buttons on the front so obviously it doesn't turn on.

I bought a universal remote control, it didn't work!

I searched for solutions and found this:

http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=927

I wanna convert that file to .ccf, i know i have to open it with RM and then put that information in makehex, but, do i have to put any special symbols or dashes in between the values or just copy the whole thing (functions) as it is?

Also the file in the link above says that it uses "necx1 with parm 48 hack" (what the heck is parm 48?) but when i open RM the listed protocol is NEC1, so, which file in makehex should i use: necx1 or nec1?

Both protocols when converted to hex have 255 functions or something like that how do i know which one is power? The reason i am asking this is because I don't have a jp1 remote instead i have a PSP with IRshell and i need at least the Pronto frequency for power so i can put it on my psp template (the psp uses .rdf files so I'm using one as a template because i can't find the Pronto2rdf utility anywhere)

Any help would be really really really really really appreciated!!!!
Sorry for asking so many question but i am desperate, and pardon me if I didn't make myself clear enough during the explanation but I am currently adopting english as my second language.

Thank you guys! (it would be nice if you could make the .ccf file for me lol) and also if any of you know where i can find the pronto2rdf utility plase let me know.
Once again thank you! Wink

The only information you get from that file to put INTO MakeHex is the protocol name, device and subdevice. See below for how to use the info from the functions tab.

The protocol name is necx1, so you select necx1.irp and edit it.

The device and subdevice are both 14, so you set the device in necx1.irp to 14.14
You do not edit anything else in that .irp file.
You drag/drop necx1.irp onto MakeHex.exe, creating necx1.hex, then probably use IrPanels or Hex2ccf to turn that into a ccf file with 256 numbered buttons.

The file was originally created before RM had direct support for necx1. In JP1, necx1 signals can also be generated by telling the software you want nec1, then adjusting a parameter. None of that is relevant outside JP1, where necx1 is just necx1.

Power is function 11.

You need to use the functions tab in RM manually (there isn't any program that can import that info automatically). Look just at the Name and OBC columns. Those tell you which numbered button in the CCF created by IrPanels or Hex2ccf corresponds to which function name.

I don't know how all that works, so I don't know whether you want to start with a CCF file or with text from the .hex file. Either way the source information has numbered functions and you manually use the info from RM's functions tab. You must associate numbered functions to named functions in whatever way is appropriate inside the PSP/IRshell software you have. There is no way to have that association represented in the MakeHex output.
