|
|
I spent several hours yesterday trying to get my Atlas 5 remote working with the codes for a Philips DVP5960 DVD player using RemoteMaster. Finally, in frustration, I switched to Keymap Master and everything worked perfectly on the first try.
Here is what I have found... tell me if I a doing something wrong here:
I downloaded the latest version of RM (v1.82) with version 1.27 of the RDFs and the latest Maps.
In RM I have three choices: Atlas 5-device PVR Day, Atlas 5-device PVR Day JP1.3, and Atlas DVR-PVR 5-Device.
I chose Atlas 5-device PVR Day and used the Philips DVP5960 codes from http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=3746. When I uploaded it to my remote it did not work.
After trying several times and scratching my head I tried the other two remote choices with no luck so I switched to Keymap Master using the Atlas 5-Device PVR Day (JP1.2) and voila, success!
The only difference I can see between the Keymap Master and RM is the "Fixed Data"
- in KM 95 30 55 65
- in RM 80 04
Is there a JP1.2 RDF for my Atlas remote to use in RM? The sticker on the remote shows 1055-XXX-0001-001 A060205. In IR its signature shows as 10251025.
Thanks. _________________ RCU810 Remote

In the [Protocols] section, the entry for PID 0058 needs to be 0058:2 instead of just 0058. |
Is this something that will be fixed in the next version of the RDFs?
I just noticed that there is an RDF available as a single download in the RDF Files section called "10251025 (Atlas 5 PVR with Day) JP1.2". I will give that one a try tonight see if it works.
Just out of curiosity, what does the Fixed Data section do? Only the Philips DVD player seems to use it in my configuration. _________________ RCU810 Remote

The RDF file for this remote probably has not been updated to include the protocol variant information. As Greg mentions, this is at the root of your problem. Replace the entire [Protocols] section with this info (which includes the correction Greg specified): Code: | [Protocols]

Most IR signals contain a portion that is constant for all signals used for the device in question and another portion that changes based on which button is pressed. We refer to the data in the fixed portion as the "device code(s)" and the data in the variable portion as the OBCs (original button codes).
We have executors, either supplied via upgrade or built into the remote, that replicate the various IR protocols used for IR signals. We supply these executors with "fixed data" that they use to format the device code portion of the signal, and we supply them with variable data (ie, different data assigned to each button) that they use to format the OBC portion of the signal. _________________ Rob
