I've been trying to setup an Atlas 1025 with Vicky's extender and so far I'm liking the extender. So far I'm only using LKP and temporary device selection really but it's definitely handy. I still have a relatively simple system and have discrete codes for most things so don't need some of the other things yet.

I'm trying to figure out how I want to handle the fast forward/rewind and previous/next chapter with this remote. Unfortunately it doesn't have any specific previous/next chapter buttons. I've tried using the page +/- or the day +/- but it never felt natural and aren't really located near the rest of the transport buttons.

I might end up using the tune 1/3 buttons since they are closer and I seemed to hit them for that purpose frequently anyway but I'd like to save them for other things if possible.

I was trying to setup the fast forward and rewind buttons to do both ff/rew and chapter stuff and ran into a bit of a road block.

I currently have it setup so that it does next/prev chapter on a short key press and starts fast forwarding or rew on a long key press. The problem is if I want to get to the faster levels of ff/rew I have to Press and hold the button once for each level. Is there any way to make it repeat the command for the ff or rewind if I continue to hold the key down with the LKP?

I don't know the answer to your precise question, but how about just switching your long and short sides? Then to cycle to the higher FF speeds, you use multiple SHORT presses, and to jump a whole chapter, you use a long press. Seems more intuitive to me.

Evan, I've got a bug in the 8820 x_ and x_cancel of the URC8820 which probably exists on my Atlas too, and I still haven't had a chance to fix and test that key grouping.

For your problem with LKP I've got a few suggestions.

First of all the Transport Keys are SUPPOSED to include the LIVE and Replay key, so you might want to use these for your trasport functions as well. Also there is a hidden feature that the PIP CH+ and PIP CH- can be in any group you want. That's not in the RDF right now, because I haven't quite got a handle on how to explain that, so you could put those in the transport group too.

If it were me I'd probaby put the Step on the long side of a recursive LKP. I tend to like those solutions.

Also you might want to consider moving the Shift xShift Key to the FAV key for its central location to make shifting more convenient.
