Got the slingPro hooked up to the Coolsat 8000 but i have NO IR codes. I have been asking around and there does not seem to be anything for it for the time being. A little frustrating but hey all good things come to those who wait!

You've got some reading to do. Start in the Using JP1 with the Slingbox thread. Make sure you read the whole thread, and follow the links, as there have been some changes to the Slingbox software since some of that was written up.

Even though that particular file is a KM file, you can use either KM or RM to modify it. In your case, as your goal is to program a Slingbox, you will need to use RM.

To get an idea of who to use RM, read this...

As i opened up the txt file for the Colsat 8000 that i downloaded from the first link. I opened it up in RM and i get an error message "The upgrade you are trying to import is not valid! It does not contain a value for Remote.name"
In the mean time i will keep reading!
Thanks for your help!

Sorry, you are correct, that isn't a valid file. I didn't actually open it before now so I didn't know. The user who created obviously didn't know what they were doing.

I will try reverse engineering it into something that you can use.

Unfortunately, I can't do much with the upgrade she posted because I have no idea what remote it was intended for. The main problem is that the upgrades uses a digit table entry, so I need to know the remote in order to get the correct codes for the numeric buttons.

What I can tell you from the upgrade is that it uses the NEC1 protocol with a main device code of 64 and a sub-device code of 64.

The few EFCs that I can reliably get from the upgrade are:
120 vol+
244 vol-
052 mute
038 ch+
043 ch-

some more EFCs that will do something, but I don't know what, are:
055,056,168,165,167,121,247,059,054,117

You could try starting an upgrade with that info to see if it plays out.

She emailed me the file and I have replaced here old file with it. However, this file generates a different upgrade to the one that was posted previously, as this one uses NEC1 device 1, so I don't know which is right.

She just emailed me back and said that it does use the 64.64 device codes after all, so go back to the RM file that you created and change both the device code and sub-device code to 64 and try it again.

Once again Rob thanks for your help my man! Prompt responses all the time! When i open RM i get error messages and when i press ok the list of error messages go away and RM opens. When i open her file it asks me to chose between "fake rdf" or "SlingBox with UEI JU chip". This is what i chose because i know i have a Ju based on the reading from the above links. I put a description down and I call it Coolsat 8000. I changed the device and subdevice protocol to 64. I did not change anything else assuming that the Keys programmed will work. I just exported binary file from that and loaded it in my slingbox SBAV folder as S1554. i went through the slingbox set up typed in S1554 PRESSED power and nothing happened. Hmmm maybe i need to start from scratch with JP1 cable and so on.
