I've had the same version of jp1, extenders etc for the last 5 years or so. But having just bought a new TV I decided to try the latest and greatest versions out there - and what an improvement BTW!

But when I upgraded to the latest Beta2 extender I found that all occurences of an X_Dev command have been replaced with O_Dev (eg X_PVR now reads O_PVR), and visa versa.

I've upgraded to IR7.15, and am using the 6131 Beta 2 extender. My 6131 is the original model with a 2k eeprom. When loading the .ir file IR gives me a choice of three RDF files:

PVR0PVx1 (URC-6131 PVR Remote Extender1)
PVR0PVx1 (URC-6131(Old)_6131nwB00 Extender1)
PVR0PVx1 (URC-6131(Old)_6131nwB00 PVR Remote Extender1 2K)

I went for the last option.

The upgrade to IR went OK. I converted the old .txt file by downloading it from the remote. I then upgraded the extender with extinstall V2. Everything looks OK apart from those transposed Device selction commands.

Is that a known problem? Should I not be trying to upgrade from the previous extender? Have I made a mistake in the upgrade process?

Did you download the latest rdf's? If you see command substitution, it indicates an rdf change.

Make sure IR's rdf directory is set to the latest rdf version folder.

Best,
jeff

Just checked the RDF files section and could not find any 6131 RDF files there. But I did download any 6131 RDF files with the extender and with the new version of IR.

What is odd, is that when I load up the .ir file it only gives me the option of PVR0PVx1 rdf files, and not the PVR0PVx2 file that came with the extender. I assume it is looking at the original signature that I uploaded from the remote. How can I force IR to use the x2 rdf file?

Just looking at the list of keycodes that came with the new extender, it does seem that the hex codes have indeed changed for those 'buttons' thanks to the insertion of the new X_ACTIVATE codes.

Is extinstall meant to translate the old keycodes to the new?
