Before I pick this unit up I wanted to see what my options are. I can get it for a song from a freind BUT he lost the remote awhile ago. Is there any chance the stock 2116 remote codes would allow me to control it? ie. punch in the 3 or 4 digit code and presto I got a remote that works. I might not get all the button that a stock remote would have but I could probably live with it for the time being.
Also, before I load an extender should I learn all the buttons I need from my existing devices(and save them to a file)? It appears the extenders don't have the learn feature so I would be outa luck if I didn't have the specific button codes correct?
Thanks,

There are several CCF files for the 1600 over at Remote Central. I just downloaded one of them and ran it through CCF2EFC and was surprised to see that is uses the Panasonic protocol with a device code of 176, which is the standard Panasonic DVD code (DVD/0490).
So yes, you should be able to use the stock code in the 15-2116, or you can use one of the Panasonic upgrades in the yahoo file section. _________________ Rob
