You're supposed to tell us WHICH setup code you're using when you post info about one that's partially working. _________________ Rob

Thank you for:
I did try it. I tried in both a 8910 and 6011 (the intended target).
Both remotes show the same symptoms:
First key press is ignored. 2nd registers correctly (though not all functions). With TV OFF, press Power Power it turns on.
Press 3366 it goes to channel 36.
Press 6376 it goes to channel 36.
Seems that if a 2nd key press comes within a short period of the first, then the first is "ignored" and the 2nd does the job.
Bizarre? |

Yes, bizarre. How does the TV react when you use the signals that you learned? Also, which setup code gives you partial functionality? _________________ Rob

0178 (sorry... I had editied the original post to include that information but hadn't repeated it.)
I'll need to re-learn and retry. I'll post back shortly. |

I see the following "0178" codes in my files and I can't guess which one you mean just by looking at the protocol/device code info...
Audio/0178 = NEC2 134.122
Sat/0178 = NEC1 19
TV/0178 = NEC1 4
VCR/0178 = RC5/5x Combo _________________ Rob

No need to re-learn, you can simply re-load the file that you posted earlier. I notice that some of your learns show repeating signals and some do not, so I'm curious as to whether this is how the remote is or if it's because of your learning technique. Can you confirm that you are holding the Polaroid button down until the URC-8910 has completed it's learning procedure (ie, the screen reads SUCCESS). _________________ Rob

Digging a bit deeper it appears that TV/0178 is the only "0178" code resident in the URC-8910, so I'm guessing that's the one that you've been using. As this code is totally different to the one that is reflected in the learned signals, it tends to imply that your set responds to more than one codeset. TV/0030 looks like a match for the couple of buttons that you say work incorrectly using TV/0178 _________________ Rob

After returning from my holiday, I'm not so enthusiastic about TV 0030.
Keymap-Master Device upgrade (with GAP protocol in comments)

IR File with Learned Signals (stored under Cable)
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=4042
I'm Struggling to identify certain functions:
Sleep, Up, Right, Left, Down, Select/OK, Exit, Enter, cc, Info, MTS

Thanks for your help Rob:
I've got everything working with NEC1 Main Device 4 EXCEPT the Up Arrow Key. I don't understand why I can not find it... but I've given up.
Here's the Upgrade:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=4047
If you can tell what EFC should be used for the Up Arrow / Navigating the Menus, please let me know.
Please note that the file you created with a special protocol while kindly helping, performs some of the functions correctly. However, the double button press I described in an earlier message in this thread still exists. Most importantly though, the Up Arrow works in your Device Upgrade.
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=4006
For example, I can use my upgrade to enter the menu system, and navigate down, left, right, then I can press another device key to which your upgrade is mapped, and press the up arrow, and it WORKS... by the way, on the first tap. Subsequent Up movements require two taps.
I noticed the relationship between OBC and EFC in your upgrade doesn't match mine. I find something strange about OBC 17 and EFC 078. I've tried to experiment but I'm just not getting there. Hex 77 vs 88, EFC 078 vs 121 and EFC 078 OBC 238... My problem ONLY exists with the Up Arrow. If somehow these ramblings or the device upgrade provides you a clue as to what's going on... I would appreciate knowing what you think.
One last specific observation example in case it helps diagnose what's going on:
Setup on URC-6011
==============
TV Button = TV/2030 (NEC1)
SAT Button = TV/2000 (your protocol)
Key Press Sequence example
===================
TV Device Button
Power - turns TV on
Menu - enters on screen menu
Down - moves selection down on menu
Down - moves selection down again on menu
SAT Device Button
Up - moves selection up on menu
Up - does Nothing
Up - moves selection up on menu
Up - does Nothing
Up - moves selection up on menu
Down - does nothing <<<<< !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Down - moves selection down on menu
Down - moves selection down again on menu
Thanks for all of your help,
Brad Sherwood |
