I purchased one of each of the cables and am primarily interested in getting the USB one working, but when I plug it into my computer a window pops up in the system tray saying that a problem has occurred and my device might not function properly. No prompting for drivers and I can't find any new devices resembling a "USB IO Device" in my Device Manager. I've tried using Add New Hardware but it doesn't detect anything and when I try to force it to point to the USBIODS.inf it says there is no information about my hardware there.
When I try to use the parallel cable and start IR.exe it says "Unable to initialize drivers for any JP1 interface." and under Parallel/Serial Error it says, "Unable to create service using C:\Windows\System32\gwiopm.sys. Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service."
The account is an administrator on the machine and I am in no way out of resources.
The box is an Athlon64 dual core processor with an Asus A8N-SLI board, a gig of OZ high performance RAM and two Western Digital Raptor SATA drives powered by a 700watt PSU.
Oh, and I'm running Windows Media Center Edition. |
