Just got new cable installed today. Cable guy couldn't get the remote for the box working with my TV. TV is Panasonic TV/VCR/DVD combo -- Model # PV-DM2792. Remote is the UR5-8400. I have been playing with it.. tried every code in the remote manual for Panasonic, and then some.. a few times. tried the auto search (not very automatic) feature. TV is only 2 years old or so.. newer generation it seems like. I better get this thing working soon or wife not gonna be able to put up with me much longer. Any ideas? |

I doubt that anyone here will know too much about your remote, as it doesn't sound like a UEI remote. As for the TV combo unit, while I don't think we've seen a 3-way Panasonic combo here before, my guess is that it uses the standard Panasonic TV codes for the TV function, the standard VCR codes for the VCR functions and the standard DVD codes for the DVD functions (though they may be some overlap). Therefore, any good universal remote should be able to work the unit, even if it takes 3 setup codes to do so.
These forums are for JP1 users, so if you decide to pick up a JP1 compatible remote, we'd be hapy to help you get it up and running.
Do you still have the original TV remote? What were you using before, was it the old cable remote? If so, couldn't youget the guy to leave it with you just so you could use it to work the TV? _________________ Rob
