Tommy Tyler, our resident hardware and electronics expert, has written up a document describing what modifications can be made to the motion sensor in the URC-9960 Kameleon, so if this is something that interests you, read this. _________________ Rob

I like the desensitizing option by either removing A ball or replacing the sensor with a 1 ball switch. Seems a lot more elegant than adding an "normally on momentary switch" to the back of the remote. So, I think I might delve into that myself.
If anyone is interested in just disabling the motion sensor and does not want to dig into the remote, the latest version of the 9960 extender provides a means to do it via a parameter in IR.
Same feature also available in the current versions of the 8060 and 8040 extenders. _________________ Nils

Hi there
I'm also currently suffering from rapid battery drain with my Kameleon 8 in 1 and would like to disconnect the motion sensor.
However I don't seem to be able to download the zip file above (not a member of the group)! Can some please email me the document directly. My email address is haydar@kirmani.com
Greatly appreciate all help.
Thanks |
