Tried to find info on transferring a custom device from JP1 (that I have uploaded to my URC8811) into Nevo on an HP IPAQ 2210.
Is there a way to do this?
Thanks!

I don't remember whatever it is that I've read about Nevo specifically, but most similar programs have the ability to import Pronto Hex.
To get Pronto Hex based on a JP1 upgrade, you should use the MakeHex program.
There is no automatic transfer process. The naming rules for "protocol" and "device" are pretty much the same between JP1 and MakeHex, so it's easy to select the right .IRP file and add the desired device to it.
The OBC in KM or RM is the command number in MakeHex's output. It's a little tedious to read the OBC number from functions one at a time in your KM file and find and copy the corresponding Pronto Hex string from MakeHex's output, but it's simple. (It's less tedious and more reliable than learning each signal from your JP1 remote to whatever.) |

I'm no Nevo expert, though I have just picked up an iPaq with Nevo on it, so I might start playing with it, but I'm pretty sure that it won't work with Pronto hex as that's just not UEI's style.
If I find out anything about upgrades, I'll let you know. _________________ Rob

you can download device upgrades from the web. it creates a file of some sort that gets sync'd to the IPAq, but I'm no hacker, so I have no idea how to translate the file (*.irc) into something workable, and vice-versa. |
