That's what I thought, but needed to check. No big deal to maintain.
I didn't think of keymove. Simple. KM is my lifeline. So long as it works there, I'm happy.
Many, many thanks again to all. _________________ Liz

You didn't think of a key move for use with the phantom, or you didn't think of a key move in the context of KM?
If the former, remember that's the only way to use a phantom. Since they're not actual buttons, the only way to assign codes to them is with key moves.
If the latter, I guess it's one of those obscure features of KM that's not documented (at least not that well)... _________________ Mark |

Mostly, didn't think... at that time
I know phantoms are keymoves. To add insult to injury, I used shifted ones too, so imagine this as 3 keymoves sitting on top of 3 keymoves... not that it bothered me 'cause it works just fine. So I was going to go home and see how the keymove sheet would treat me after I fiddle with the RDF file. I only have about 50 bytes left in the keymove/macro area!
Documentation is fine. It's just when you begin things, you may understand the words but not the meaning, or you see wonderful solutions to problems you haven't thought about. |

It appears, up to now, that the tiny pause provided by the extra TV command does the trick. If not, all your wonderful suggestions will be put to good use. Interesting stuff about different durations of device switch and actual device commands. I didn't tell the TV what you all said about being slow.
Once again, thanks for your work in describing the alternative approaches and what things mean in the context I can relate to.
> The precise phantom key rules are great. When my one, remaining, unshifted phantom gets used up, this info will be invaluable, because a bunch of other requirements need phantoms.
> Great suggestion about adding phantoms to RDF. I'll use if must.

It works like dynamite. | And, if you ever need to use the Pause Special Protocol, you can set it up in KM (with no buttons mapped on the Buttons sheet), and get the Upgrade, Protocol Upgrade and keymove(s) you need via the KeyMove sheet. Plus you can document what you did in KM and save it like any other upgrade. _________________ Mike England |
