Just wanted to say that this is a great site!
I have a modulated and distributed video system that I installed last year which included 3 6131's for the DirecTV/Tivo. I knew about JP1 and knew these were capable but didn't think I'd have a need.
I got a second DirecTV/Tivo last week (Circuit City - $49!) and ran into the obvious problem. After having to use the 6131 and the "Peanut" for a couple of days, my wife was not a happy girl.
I came here and within the next two days, I had EEPROM from Mouser (sorry Rob, they're an hour away and UPS Ground gets here overnight!) and male headers soldered, a cable built and my wife happy again! All without having to post a single question. The answers were already here.
Now that I've done it, I'm going to hang around for awhile and see what else I can make these remotes do.
