I have a RadioShack Cat: 15-2116 and I have a JP1 Interface I bought years ago, I recently took the remote apart to clean inside of it (I don't know if that is my problem as the remote will still work) But whenever I plug in the JP1 Interface all of the characters on the LCD will display which usually happens when I plugin the interface cable but my problem is the display will stay like that until I unplug the cable and I am not able to program the remote at all
IR says No Response from remote
I am capable of making a new simple interface
Thanks |

The LPT Simple interface is very sensitve to battery charge. So if you are using that remote, try all the battery tricks. Strong batteries, weak batteries, no batteries. I was really happy to give up using my parallel interface because it was such a pain to get the right battery combination. I have one remote that needs to have the strong batteries in the remote overnight, and then have them removed to connect. I have others that only respond with new batteries, others that only work with weak batteries.......
Any other interface requires good battery strength and may give "no remote found" if the batteries are not strong enough.. _________________ Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.
Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.
