|
|
When I go to add a special protocol in IR for the 1056B01, nothing can be entered except Device and Key.
There's nothing in the Parameters drop down (except "Multiplex" and it's grayed out) and all below is grayed out too. Is there any way to add anything in the special protocols on this remote ?
Thanks,
Sam |

those protocols are included in the 1056 extender, support is in the software for when the protocols are included. _________________ this JP1 stuff is a sickness! |

Only the Pause protocol is generic. All other special protocols are usually developed by the extender writer. In most remotes the multiplex protocol can be written to be used with or without the extender, but the DSM, LKP/DKP, and ToadTog almost always require an extender. _________________ Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.

Thank you both. I have been looking for the extender for this 1056B01 since right after your replies and I have found three under extenders in the file section but I don't see one for 1056.
It's been a long time since I did the extender on my 6131's and I'm not sure if I'm looking in the right place ?
Also Vickie, I'm wanting to add about 10 LKP's to start with.
Please advise where I need to look.
Thanks
EDIT: I think I just found it here: http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=5718 as mine has the 30333033 sig. If this is wrong please let me know. |

That is version 2.04, I believe you should choose
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=6724]Extender version 2.10 unless you have a good reason for using the older version. _________________ Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.

Extender version 2.10 unless you have a good reason for using the older version. | Vicky's link didn't seem to be active, so here it is again. I think it is due to a misplaced bracket. _________________ Beginners - Read this thread first

Right, thanks. I put in the address bar and removed the brackets and d/l'd it. (Thanks Vicky) Now I just need to remember/figure out the correct installation procedure.
I appreciate all the fast help here ! |

Don't rely on memory, this extender is quite different than the 6131, so you'll need to do some reading about the installation/activation procedure. _________________ Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.

I don't mean to be a pain, is there a step by step install on this extender ? |

it's in the readme that is packaged with the extender.
BTW, if that doesn't work for you i'd like to hear why since I tried to write the readme so that it would be easy to follow _________________ this JP1 stuff is a sickness! |

OK Uncle, I see that in the readme. But "Merge using Extinstall" is grayed out in IR.
I'm using IR V 8.02. I tried doing the command line and it says "can't find extinstall" so I must have it entered wrong, I'll try to get the path correct.
And I read all 10 pages here
I assume I'll know when I have it installed correctly by checking the special protocols tab, right ?
Any advice is appreciated ! |

Merge using extinstall requires that you download Extinstall and perhaps the supporting libraries from the Tools->Main Folder, and while you are there upgrade IR to 8.03, its jam packed with new features, and if you need help with the new features, read the IRHelpPDF from the Help file area. _________________ Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.

Alright! Thanks to all your help, I've got it all working. I did have a problem with LKP's looping endlessly then read Vicky's PDF and used XSHIFT and now they seem to work just fine. And I did update to IR v8.03 too.
Uncle, I printed off your readme then spent some time reading it then trying different upload configurations to my 1056 and I think it's actually written very well. I used the "Merge using ExtInstall" in IR and it was easy.
And as stated, the macros are much faster and I'm really liking it. This is definitely my new remote of choice and I'll be replacing all my old, worn out 6131's with these. I'm going to get some backlit ones this week.
I'll probably still have a couple of questions at some point but it's good now.
Thanks for all the help again, JP1 and this forum is great,
Sam |
