Hello

great ! I have discovered that I could reprogram my dreambox 7000 remote (V4) and I just finished my JP1.2 serial interface. It works fine with no rework Smile and the download is perfomed without error.
But, my goal was to control the volume of my Denon AMP with the dreambox remote (VPT), but I can't find a way to do it ... Sad
I found 3 devices in my remote eeprom (I have 2 buttons only), so I think it could be possible to add my Denon amplifier. But, it seems not possible to configure the AUX device as a AMP (only TV, SAT or DVD).

Any idea please ? Help would be very appreciated.
Thanks

Cheers

Change your denon upgrade to a compatible device type (TV, VCR or SAT) in RM (or KM). SAT would probably be best.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Good idea, and I will try (so, I have to learn how to use RM first Smile )
There is no problem to use a SAT code for this device as another SAT device will also be used for the Dreambox ?

Cheers

Ok, I am completly lost now ... Surprised
I don't find DreamboxV4 remote in KM. And in RM after adding the rdf and map file, the DreamboxV4 remote seems to be managed, but everything (code, protocole, buttons...) is empty (except the layout with the picture).
I don't know what I have to do and how to proceed... Confused
Tanks
regards

As you found, KM only handles selected remotes, while RM handles any remote where the RDF has been completed.

In order to use RM, you need to know what the Denon AMP's signal looks like. In the AUDIO upgrade area we have several Denon Upgrades.

If you can't find the exact model number of your Denon AMP, you start experimenting with the KM and RM files you find in the upgrade area. Remotemaster can open files in either format.

Once you open the upgrade, change the remote to the Dreambox V4 remote. Then change the upgrade type to one TV.

Switch to the Buttons TAB.

Make sure the functions are on the buttons that you'd like to see.

Switch to the Output Tab.

Copy the Upgrade and Paste in the Device in IR.

If a Protocol is required, copy that and paste that into IR as well.

Then Upload your IR file to your remote.

Test.

If it doesn't control anything, try another upgrade.

If all you want it VPT you don't need to switch to it, you can just set the VPT to the audio device and you're done.

If you do want to be able to switch to AUX device mode, you'll notice that the three device buttons are right at the top of the list of available buttons when you create a macro.

The VPT works fine but I want to swith on/off my denon using the same remote. So, using a macro now it works (shift+TV => 3rd device).

Now I would like to know if it is possible to add a 4th device in my remote memory (using protocol and macros ? ) because I can see only 3 slots (I thought it was possible in DreamboxV1/JP1 remote).

Thanks !

It is true. Dreambox V4 only has 3 slots, whiel Dreambox V1 had 4 slots.

If there was a multiplexor, that might address your issues. However
I don't think a multiplexor has been written for the Dreambox remote, and haven't heard that anyone has one in the works.

I don't think the Dreambox has a lot of keys, but perhaps you can work this out with keymoves. A keymove will work with devices, even if that device isn't assigned a slot on the Setup page.

Another question. Is it possible to switch on all my 3 devices using a short press on power key, and to swith off all of them by a long key press (because the Denon off button is different from the on one) ?
thank you

SEB, what you are describing, is what a LKP/DKP special protocol does. The LKP/DKP is a special protocol developed by JP1ers. This function is usually developed when a extender is developed. AFAIK, As far as I know, this special protocol has not been adapted for the Dreambox V4.

Please post HERE in the future.

Your key moves don't make any sense. Delete all of them except AUX Phantom2 and AUX Phantom4. Those are your actual denon discrete on/off's, right?

Power can't have a function and a macro, only one or the other. You're getting into some sort of loop I think. So pick any button for your on macro EXCEPT power.

Then your on macro can be: TV; Power; AUX; Phantom4; DREAM; Power
You off macro: TV; Power; AUX; Phantom2; DREAM; Power
