I have several of these remotes for Brillian tv's, URC-818ABJO-001 I bought a JP1.1 cable and can download from the remotes but there is not a RDF file for them and I used the learn function to use one on several different devices and then copied the file but can't upload the file copy to a second remote, How do I get a RDF file for these? Any help at all please.

Did you save the data (ie, IR file) that you downloaded before you made any changes? If so, we'd like to see that file. The next step is to create macros that contain as many of the buttons on the remote as possible. It's important to keep track of which buttons you put in each macro, so use some sort of logical sequence. Then post that file along with the list of buttons. With that info, we can create a starter RDF, then we'll help you fine tune it.

Do the button names in the screen change? If so, it would be nice to see pics of all the different variations.

Yes I saved the file, the button names change one the screen according to what devise you select, I played with one and trying to program it to a different tv entered a code and the tv buttons changed format, I am still new to this, where should I send the saved file, I have not programmed any of the macros in the file yet, any suggestions on what buttons to put in the macros?

Thanks for the help.

That's a good pic, any chance of getting similar pics that show what the remote looks like when you select the other device modes?

There's a link to the file section at the top of this page, from there you can navigate to the Diagnosis Area folder, save your files there, then post links to them back here.

This is in DVD mode

This is in Directv mode

This is in DVR Mode
The buttons configurations changes if I program a different code into the device, I haven't found codes that work yet so I have been teaching them as I go.

Did you save a download before you started learning? If not, could you do a master reset on the remote and download a fresh file. You should be able to re-load your current file in order to restore your learned signals.

Btw, what is the brand and model number of your TV?

Maybe you should wait before you reset it, unless you don't mind possibly losing all the learns that you did.

I have created a starter RDF here:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=7900

With this RDF I can see your learns and I can see a bunch of upgrades that are in the remote, but there's still a lot of undocumented data in the RDF.

The link to the reset Remote is
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=7901

and now after using the RDF you provided it will allow me to upload the original back to it, but when I download from the remote it give me the error protocol list not found after devise list.

When you download from the remote, could you use the "Raw Download" button, just to make sure that the RDF is not changing the data in the file.

Please re-download the reset remote and replace the file that you just loaded.

Btw, what is the brand and model number of your TV?
