hi,

using this helpfull forum, i managed to program my URC-39730B00-00 to use my Dreambox 7020, my TV (Toshiba) and my A/V Receiver (Denon).

Now i got a Dreambox DM8000 with URC-39940R01.

I build a new interface and tried to program it like the old one, but no success, only some LED blinking Crying or Very sad.

so i still use my old remote also for the DM8000.

is there a short description available, how to programm my new URC-39940R01. I found the RDf File (Dreambox_V5_URC-39940_R01.rdf), but i dont know how to use it.

Hi there. I now have the same problem. The new Dreambox DM8000 comes with the remote URC-39940R01. I too have found the RDF file for the remote, shown as a Dreabox V5. I applied the same device upgrade I had on my previous remote which was the 39930 to add the AUX function. This seems to do nothing. The AUX function does not appear in the Device Button list.

Could anyone please help us with this it seems the remote is somewhat different to the previous model.

When you download from the new DB remote, does IR recognize it?

OK, what does it recognize it as? If it's using the right RDF, when you program your upgrade in RM make sure you select the same RDF and your upgrades should work.

If they don't, post a copy of your RM file (and maybe your IR file) for someone to look at.

I've updated the RDF but the remote only has 2 slots for device setup codes. Thus, you can't add an additional device setup code. The V4 remote had 3 slots but only 2 physical device buttons and you had to select the 3rd device slot by programming that into a macro.

You can still achieve the same results using the Device Multiplexor, but we probably haven't customized the DM to work with this remote yet.

I found some notes regarding the device multiplexor and URC-39930 and changed it for the URC-39940

Upgrade Protocol 0 = 01 FE (HCS08) UnExtended Device Multiplexor for URC-39940
20 04 00 00 02 00 8C BE CC 58 B6 60 E7 BF B6 61 E7 C0 81
End

The following device upgrade maps BOUQUET+=04 B8 for SAT/1238 and BOUQUET-=05 FD for SAT/1563
Upgrade Code 0 = 1C 4F (TV/1103) Uses Device Multiplexor Protocol 01FE. BOUQUET+=SAT/1238 BOUQUET-=SAT/1563
FE 00 21 04 B8 05 FD
End

Yes, assuming the code that Binky posted works.

What you would do is download the Special Protocols spreadsheet. Even though the Dreambox v5 remote isn't included, you should be able to use the protocol upgrade that Binky posted instead.

You can use this spreadsheet to format a Device Multiplexor upgrade that will let you switch which setup code is assigned to a device button.

If this is too hard to follow, do this; format the upgrade that you would like to be the "3rd device" and add it to your IR file. For testing purposes, assign the upgrade to a device button and verify that it works correctly. Then post a copy of the IR file for us.

When the Device Multiplexor is installed, you will need a couple of spare buttons to use as the new device buttons. For example, let's say that you have two different SAT boxes that you want to control, and you want to use the DREAM button for both of them.

Let's say that you want to use shift/rew and shift/fwd as the device selectors.

To control STB1, you would press DREAM, then shift/rew.
To control STB2, you would press DREAM, then shift/fwd.

Tell use what key and what setup code you want to use and we can probably make a device upgrade for you. My example maps BOUQUET+=04 B8 for SAT/1238 and BOUQUET-=05 FD. This means if you use keycode BOUQUET+ in upgrade TV/1103, it'll change the device setup code to SAT/1238.

In IR.exe, if you assign a keymove on SHIFT-DREAM to TV/1103 BOUQUET+, pressing SHIFT-DREAM will change the setup code on the DREAM button to be SAT/1238.
