Typically I find the LED'S connected in Parallel with each other powerd by a transistor. I can't understand how one led would be bad and have learning still work but not transmit. If a bad led was shorted it should also cause problems learning and if it was open that too should cause problems learning at least i think. I myself would also suspect the transistor |

Rob & HH1,
Thanks for the assistance on this. Given my poor soldering skills I've gone with a new URC 7980 remote. I've uploaded all my upgrades and all seems to be working fine (some tweaking was required). The extra two device slots will now let me add my Onkyo stereo which I previously hadn't.
The new URC 7980 is much slimmer and will take a bit of getting used to. Again thanks for the assistance on the URC 7960. |
