|
|
Hello all -
I have my XSight setup and working - however - when using DirectTV say hitting guide my OK , UP and Left keys do not work. I can use down and right with no issues. I also noticed that the Indicator (led below power) does not light when using the keys as well. I have a ZVOX remote as well and the mute does not work.
Any ideas? |

Does this happen in all device modes, or just DTV mode? _________________ Rob

What I was trying to determine was whether you have a problem with the physical buttons or have the wrong codes programmed to them. In other words, if you have the problem when controlling the DTV but not when, let's say, controlling your CD player, I would assume it was codes that were the problem.
Btw, if you have a file for us to look at, please post it in our file section, the Diagnosis Area is the place for random files like this. _________________ Rob

side note - just launched devices and went to TV - could pull up Menu - but not use keys up or enter (select).
Do you think it is bad keys not working? |

Mdavej is really the expert on the Xsight, so I'm hoping that he can offer some insight. I'm moving this to the Xsight forum. _________________ Rob

I'll look at the file when I get a chance. But on the surface, looks like bad keys since it's happening on multiple devices. Can you get the up to work if you press really hard? |

I could not open your file because it was corrupt. Mathdon was kind enough to fix it and has replaced your original linked file with the fixed version. You had a power assist assigned to a non-existent device.
Besides that, I did not see any other problems with your config. So if you load the fixed version and your buttons still don't work, then the buttons have indeed worn out. Unfortunately nothing can be done in that case short of replacing the remote. This has happened to at least a half dozen of my Xsights after a couple of years. |

Just chiming in - same here. This and the 'up arrow' dying have killed probably four XSights for me. I was lucky enough to buy a bunch of them cheap, but when I run through them all I will be sad |

The challenge is that the Xsight and similar remotes are extremely difficult to get apart, almost impossible to do without breaking something.
OP, you could try mapping the up/down functions onto the left/right buttons for a while. Many devices don't even use the left-right keys so this would be a good solution _________________ this JP1 stuff is a sickness! |
