|

I'm setting up my 1st remote with RMIR.
Just to see how this works I manually programmed everything on my remote (not using JP1). I did the device code, learning, button copy, punch through, and macros.
I then downloaded my remote to RMIR.
I can see everything that I assigned with the exception of punch-through.
Is punch-through not available in RMIR or am I missing something?
Thanks
Remote: Inteset INT-422-3
RMIR: Version 2.05 build 9

In RMIR, Punchthrough settings are on the "General" tab. There are columns for Volume, Channel and Transport punchthrough. If these columns don't show up after you download your remote to RMIR, please post again. Please note that the tabs, and their contents, vary a lot from one remote to another so you need to download your remote to RMIR before you can see the punchthrough columns. _________________ Graham |

Thanks, I see the columns (Volume, Transport, Channel). All say <none> yet my punch-through for volume is working. I'll have to experiment with this some more but at least the remote is working as I intended. |

If you can post a raw download for me to look at, I will investigate. Select the Remote > Raw download menu item, press Download on the panel that then opens, and when the download finishes, do Save. Accept the default filename that it offers and upload the file to the Diagnosis Area of our File Section. Then post a message in this thread with a link to the upload. Remotes differ a lot from one another and the RDF file for the remote tells RMIR where to find the various data in the remote. There may be something wrong or missing in the RDF. _________________ Graham |

I often find the punch through settings wording to be misleading. Since i use extenders for the most part, that is not an issue for me personally. I do remember trying to help someone with a dreambox remote last year and the settings wording made both Rob and myself think that on was off. I usually just experiment with the settings if it doesn’t punch through. Maybe i should pay more attention. _________________ Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.
Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

When punch through isn't available or doesn't do what I want
I use keymoves to set volume controls (vol+,vol- and mute) to
what I want for each device. _________________ Jim Anderson |

Graham,
According to the manual, this model only has Volume and Channel punch thru, hence would need the parameter PunchThru=VC in the RDF, similar to what we did for the Insignia NS-RMT415. Do you agree?
I realize that may not resolve the issue, but would correct at least one error in the RDF. |
