Hi There,
Is it safe to download settings from the ARRX18G and upload them into the ARRX15G.
The moment I tried, RMIR thrown a warning
Thanks for reading

Changing remote models is always a PITA. There are so many variations that it wouldn't be practical for the software to do it. The good news is that RMIR is light enough to have two instances open side by side to compare your setups. Use this as an opportunity to optimize your setup. For me the tough part is the end user documentation. _________________ Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.
Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

Further to vickyg2003's remarks, you could attach ARRX15G and, in RMIR, first 'download from the attached remote', and next open an existing .rmir file containing the devices and settings for ARRX18G, which RMIR could adopt for ARRX15G.
Depends how the two ARRXs differ but, in general, I believe the remotes might have different physical buttons and, if so, RMIR would need to guess some assignments of functions to the buttons in each device and in the process some functions may not be allocated.
As above you can then open individual matching device layouts for each remote in side by side RMIR displays, to compare the functions on similar buttons, then save the new adjusted .rmir, ready for uploading to ARRX15G. |

There is an easier way, as the ARRX 15G and 18G are essentially the same remote. Use RMIR to download the 18G setup and save it as a .ir file (NOT a .rmir file) by using File > Save As and using the drop-down file type to select .ir. Open the saved .ir file with a text editor. The line under the [Signature] heading gives the signature, USB8005, in ASCII so the last byte is 35 (ASCII for digit 5). Change this to 34, making the signature be USB8004 which is that of the 15G. Save the edited file and open it in RMIR. It should now appear as a setup for the 15G and can be uploaded to that remote.
Please note that this trick ONLY WORKS BETWEEN XSIGHT TOUCH AND COLOR (and their clones such as Nevo C2/C3). Do not try it between any other remotes. _________________ Graham |
