Seeking a couple of missing codes for Teac NP-H750

Post by CambridgeMart »

1. Device: Teac NP-H750
2. Type of device: Receiver / DAC
3. Year: 2013
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: OFA UR7140 R02
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? Yes
6. Still have original remote? No
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? Yes, Amp 0609
10. Learning remote question? No
11. Have you tried the JP1 Lookup Tool? Yes, but no other codes worked
12. If you have a Nevo (or similar) remote, have you tried ez-rc.com or simpleset.com? N/A

So I have managed to identify 24 of the 27 functions from the original remote plus 1 extra function not on the original remote. I have an RMIR file with my codes I can upload if it's of any assistance.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to track down any codes. You'll have to do a brute force search:

In AMP mode, tap Setup followed quickly by 00000 and see how the device responds, then tap Setup followed by 00001, and so on through 00255. Make note of which code performs what function. You should run across every possible function. Once you get a rhythm going, you can get through all 255 codes in about 15 minutes.

To confirm you're on the right track, try 00014 and see if that's Power.

With the list you compiled, you can make a new device upgrade using protocol NEC and device.subdevice 133.106.

https://irdb.globalcache.com/Home/Database has the codes. Once you've registered, you can select TEAC and the NP-H series, and they'll email the codes in both Global Cache and Pronto Hex form. These can then be converted to OBCs using IrScrutinizer or IRScope.

I've uploaded the signals in the Global Cache and Pronto formats as sent from the above link.

Awesome. IRScrutinizer can convert them all in one shot using Import Text. Here's the resulting upgrade:

An EFC search wouldn't have worked after all since this uses two subdevices.
