Can I build a Jp1.X cable to read out my Jp1.3 dreambox remote or do I need another kind of Jpxx cable? I have build a Jp1.X cable and cannot get it to work(not detected in tester prog etc.), but this could mean many things. I'll post picture of board asap.

Yes, a JP1.2 cable will work with a JP1.3 remote

I made a couple of simple pics.
I'm not skilled in soldering or making prints so my excuse for the bad work. However I do believe my print is correct so it's weird I cannot even get the tester prog to recognise my jp1.x cable. Maybe someone can see what I did wrong?

Can someone also maybe confirm this remote is a jp1.3?

Thx

The PCB markings match what two other users(hunden and lastrico) have reported except the numbers after the UEIS are 10875.

It might be easier to use LIRC(irrecord) on the dreambox to record the signal set sent by the Dreambox 7025 remote and the signal sent by the Slingbox.

Does the remote LED flash when doing a reset? If it does, it usually means the reset circuit path is ok.

Have you checked that the transistor B-C-E legs match the circuit? I recall someone else said their transistor had them in a different order.

I can sell you a JP1.x cable for $20 plus $5 shipping to Europe if it would help.

thx again for the reply. Yes my remote blinks 2x when I connect the cable. But I then cannot use the remote. (no blink when pressing a button) Also the tester program jp1xtest can't detect the cable. I'm going to try another pc very soon maybe that is the causing the problem.

Also I did the setup code check again and now when my remote is back together I do get a code for SAT and it is 0031!! Very weird tried it countless times and now set990 seems to works? Surprised
I really really want to make my remote work with my slingbox a/v and am willing do all I can for this so any tips for a jp1 noob are welcome Wink

I'm not sure if the remote should blink twice when connecting the cable. It should blink twice when the tester resets the remote before and after testing.

When you built your interface(I didn't trace your connections on your pictures), did you leave out the JP1.1 components(you should as this is
a JP1.2 remote)? If your remote appears to be "dead", it could be in serial boot mode or in debug mode.

If the setup code is SAT/0031 then that matches up with what the other users have reported. The LED won't blink for the zero digit. Like I said in my previous msgs, you will probably have to try to learn the signals generated from the Slingbox to see why those are different from the ones generated by the remote.

You might be able to solder some components onto the Dreambox V4 URC-39930 remote to make it a learning remote. Another option is to use LIRC(irrecord) on the dreambox itself.

I have been told that all the Dreamboxes use the same OBCs/EFCs, but the fixed data is sometimes different. Here's the fixed data for all the UEI Sat codes that use the Dreambox protocol. Give them a try...

SAT/1237 = 0E 0F 44 1A
SAT/1437 = 0D 1F 44 1A
SAT/1473 = 1B 1F 44 2A
SAT/1491 = 1A 2F 44 2A
SAT/1492 = 19 3F 44 2A
SAT/1493 = 18 4F 44 2A
SAT/1494 = 17 5F 44 2A
SAT/1495 = 16 6F 44 2A
SAT/1537 = 0C 2F 44 1A
SAT/1637 = 0B 3F 44 1A
SAT/1798 = 09 3F 44 0D
SAT/1923 = 3B 07 44 1A

Hi Rob..thanks for the update. If I do a set990 code check with my remote I get 0031 for SAT. If I look at your list I don't see this SAT code. Does this mean it is useless for me to try the fixed data?, or should I just fill in 0031 for the setup code and try the fixed data codes? plz remember I'm a noob but i guess the setup code needs to match?

EDIT: I tried all the fixed data and used 0031 as setup code in your 7000pl file. Saved and tried both pl and rv bin files. still nogo Question Crying or Very sad

When they load these codes into the Dreambox remotes, they renumber them as 0031, 0032, etc, so the fact that yours reads out as 0031 is consitent with that. I would recommend that you try the '3B 07 44 1A' fixed data first.

Hi Rob, just to double check Very Happy .. I use your file for the 7000
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=4524 and modify this file with RM. I fill in/replace these data:
setup code:0031
device: 26
dev1: 59
dev2: 7
dev3: 68
Fixed Data = 3B 07 44 1A

I did this with all the fixed data given and saved binary Pl and RV.
Tested the power button with slingbox but nogo an all 24 options. Crying or Very sad

Is there any other way to get my remote working?

Not that I know of.

Your next step is to get a JP1.x cable and download the memory from your Dreambox remote to see exactly what code it's using.

The setup code is just a numbering scheme to match the setup code on the device button with your device upgrade. The number doesn't have to match what you are currently using on your Dreambox remote. I don't know how the setup codes work on the slingbox software though.

Getting/building a JP1.2 cable may allow us to see what the fixed data is on your Dreambox V4 remote. Another way is to record and compare the signals sent by the Dreambox remote and the Slingbox. I believe you can do this using the irrecord program within the dreambox.

I have a .IR file from a Dreambox 600 URC-39930 remote and that one uses
SAT/0031: 0E 07 44 1A
SAT/0032: 0D 17 44 1A
SAT/0033: 0C 27 44 1A
SAT/0034: 0B 37 44 1A
so you may want to try some of these to see if they work with your DM7025.

Thanks for all the suggestions... I had some time today to look at my cable once more. I removed the 3 components to make the cable a 1.2 version. I cannot explain it but finally the cable is working perfectly.
You can view my downloaded file from my 7025 remote here:
http://www.modfun.nl/downloads/7025.ir

I'm not sure what the next step is so any help is more than welcome.
