I'm trying to learn Linux and learn how to use JTAG at the same time to get into the Mosaic Remote to set it up like we do with JP1. Linux has a site that uses JTAG, but being a newbie to Linux I keep getting hung up when the code doesn't compile.

the site that has the JTAG code is:
http://openwince.sourceforge.net/jtag/

Any help would be appreciated.

Joe.

Joe,

I tried compiling jtag-0.5.1 & jtag-0.5 and got different compile errors each time (in different files). However, jtag-0.4 compiled without problem. I'm guessing that the software is still somewhat buggy and may require options to ./configure to compile correctly. To confuse things I'm using NetBSD.

To get jtag-0.4 working, I downloaded include-0.3.2 unpacked it and did a ./configure and ./make install. Then I downloaded jtag-0.4, unpacked it and did ./configure, ./make and the jtag binary built and was runable.

Why don't you give 0.4 a try and see if it works. If you don't mind switching to NetBSD I can guarantee the software will compile Smile Otherwise, let me know what linux variant you're using and I'll try to help.

Jason,
Thanks for the reply. I forgot to mention I was using Mandrake 9.2 and Cygwin. Neither one would compile. I downloaded a full package for Cygwin.

I'll try NetBSD and see what I get. I've tried RedHat, Mandrake 9.1 (now 9.2) and I was able to work w/ Mandrake easier.

NetBSD seems to have a lot of files for the i386--.iso files. I'll get to that on saturday.

Thanks,
Joe.
